1st Birthday Part II
Friends and family joined us today for Part II of Bridgette's first birthday. We had lots of good food and of course ate some cake. After singing Happy Birthday to Bridgette she was given a piece of cake and dove right in. This time she got a little messier but thankfully she kept it out of her hair.
First Birthday Part I
Our baby girl turned one last Thursday. We had planned an official party for Sun. the 22nd with family and friends but we couldn't not celebrate Bridgette's birthday on the actual day. Instead of cake we did cupcakes that night. I got baby B her own mini cupcake. She dove right into the frosting squishing it with her fingers, and then started eating the cake part. She really kept pretty clean but it was into the bath afterwards.
One side note: Until Bridgette's birthday she had never really eaten any sweets. However, when we put the mini cupcake on the table in front of her she was reaching out trying to grab it and got upset when we took it away to light the candle.
My good birthday helper.

Pacific Science Center
On Sunday we went to the Pacific Science Center downtown Seattle. It was a perfect rainy day activity. The center had tons to do for young kids. It was like a hand on children's museum but it also included a bug exhibit and a butterfly sanctuary. In the butterfly room it was a warm 75 degrees had lots of tropical plants. It was so cool getting to see all the different varieties of butterfly's. Some where on the plants and some were just on the ground hanging out. As we entered the room I heard a lady say to her daughter, "remember if a butterfly lands on you it's good luck." So as we were walking around the large room a huge butterfly landed on Bridgette's arm. I was a little nervous but she had no clue what to think about it. Then just before we were about to leave another big butterfly landed on Bridgette's flower headband. It was definitely intimidating being that close to a live butterfly. Overall, it was a fun time. Ella especially likes to look at the pictures we took from the day.

Lots to catch up on
Where does all the time go? Only three more days until Bridgette turns 1 yrs old. Almost two weeks ago Bridgette took her first steps, three in a row in fact. She was so proud of herself! This weeks she is taking steps to objects instead of just to me or Jake. I will try and get a video or pictures of her in action. She is very vocal, she loves to join me and Ella when we sing songs and she loves to clap to "If your happy and you know it" or certain books she likes. Her newest words are: hop, up, poof, and dog-dog. She can also moo like a cow, and she says, baa,baa when singing Baa, baa black sheep.
Ella is very busy these days. She just finished up her 10 weeks of mom and me swimming classes. She is getting braver at putting her face in the water. Ballet class is going well, she was sick with a sinus infection one week and then had a couple days of high fevers another day so we have had a little set back with the class. Crossing my fingers that this week goes well.
