G and G Menard
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us last week. It was fun to show them around our new city. Jake and I even got to go out for dinner, just the two of us! Both the girls were not feeling all that well so we didn't stay out to late.
Marjie bought this jersey knit tubing fabric for Ella and Bridgette to crawl through. Both the girls love it. I was afraid that Ella might now like being trapped inside but she had no fear. She even likes us to swing her inside it like her cousins do.

Bridgette updates
As you know by now Bridgette is up and crawling. Most days i find her standing up in her crib after naps and morning time so its only a matter of time that she will be off and walking. My bet is within the next month she may take her first steps. Ella better watch out!
Other big news about Bridgette is that both her front teeth have broken through. Poor thing, teething is rough and painful.
Bridgette has a very loving disposition and loves to cuddle. She is full of big smiles which makes my days better especially when Ella is challenging.

Ella updates
Well the terrible twos have hit us hard and fast. I had no idea that Ella could be such a naughty little girl. Everyday its like walking on egg shells, just waiting for her to do something she shouldn't be doing. Poor Avery takes the brunt of it. If anything Ella is making Avery get some exercise, since she torments her whenever she can find her.
Other updates:
Ella's eating habits have changed. Some for the good and others for the worse. She tried pizza for the first time last week.
She hasn't used a binky or asked for one since we buried it in the dirt a couple of weeks ago.
Ella's interested have changed she is totally into Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Tinkerbell and friends, and dressing up as either Snow White or Cinderella. She is quite the Diva. Last week she hardly took off the tutu dress, we even had to wear it to the store. She wanted to wear her princess shoes but I had to lay down the line somewhere.
Hear we are looking for rain puddles to stomp in. Until just recently her rain boots have been to heavy for her to walk in.

Burying the Binky
Ella has two binkies left. Both have holes chewed through them. YUCK! Anyway, we have misplaced one and the other one finally broke into pieces yesterday. A while ago we read this book to Ella called, The Last No, No. It was about this dragon who had to give up his binkys. He secretly wanted to keep them so he planted a binky in the ground. At the end he of the book he was proud of himself for not needing his binky anymore but he also looked out back and there was a big tree that had grown and it was full of binkies. So Ella has the idea in her head that if she plants her broken binky she may get more. I'm not sure if this is a good technique to get rid of her binkies for good, but its worth a try. So far we are on a second day without the binky. Yesterday, she told me that she would like to try one of Bridgettes extra binkys but I told her no. Cross your fingers for me, that we are done with binkies!!

8mo old Bridgette
Everyday Bridgette is doing something new. She is sooo close to crawling. I thought for sure by last weekend but we were on the go so much she didn't get a lot of time on the floor. Her rosey cheeks are from her teething. One of her upper baby teeth is ready to pop through. Yesterday, she pulled herself up on Ella's stool in the bathroom and then this afternoon she was babbling up in her crib and this is how I found her. (See picture below) She was on her knees smiling at me when I walked in. Then when I ran to grab the camera and she started to cry. She can also wave to you and signs, "all done" after eating.
Having Fun
Here we are at the beach on Lake Washington last weekend. There are so many great play areas around our new house. We just had to go outside and enjoy the day.
