Born to be a Hygienist

I gave Ella her first baby toothbrush the other day. At first she was a little unsure of the bristle part but after checking it out, it went directly into her mouth. I think she wants to be just like her mom and clean teeth when she grows up.
This week Ella has learned how to clap her hands and wave "HI" and Goodbye"

Splish Splash

This weekend was a warm one here so we brought Ella down to the fountain. She really enjoyed watching all the kids but was a little unsure of the water. Doesn't she look cute in her baby swimming suit?
Ella officially started crawling last Thursday- Hooray!!

The Zoo

Ella took her first trip to the zoo this weekend up in Seattle. We decided she was still a little young to enjoy the animals but me and Jake had a good time especially with the Hippos.

Jake and Ella in the children's petting zoo.

People were actually laughing at Ella at the zoo because of this pose with her legs in the air.

My little strawberry shortcake!

9mos old and more

I have been terribly busy these last couple of weeks so I apologize for not updating you all with new pictures. Since I last logged in, we had a wonderful trip to Spokane. Ella participated in her first Bloomsday. She was quite the trooper during the 7.5 mile walk. We celebrated multiple birthdays, with one big party my mom put together. Happy B-day again to my dad's, niece Bennett, and Grandpa. I had a great first Mother's day, Jake made some good meals and Ella was a good girl especially during nap time.
Ella had her 9mo well visit today. She is growing right on track and hitting each milestone. Ella's latest accomplishment is pulling herself up on things. I think she just likes using me and Jake as a jungle gym. She can also go from her her stomach to sitting all by herself. What a big girl!

Good times

Here are some new pictures of Ella. She has been such a delight lately. Most nights she is even sleeping through the night.

Ear Infection - Round 3

Ella is just recovering from her third ear infection. This time it was in both ears which means another round of antibiotics. However, today we took her in to have a follow up visit and things look good. In the mean time since Ella is so prone to ear infections Jake went out and bought our very own otoscope so we can occasionally check her ears. Maybe since we bought the otoscope we will never have to use it.
On the brighter side, Ella has two teeth that have erupted and are very sharp, no more putting your finger in her mouth. And just yesterday Ella has begun to crawl, not on her hands and knees but she definitely uses her legs and arms to push and pull to get places. This is very exciting yet scary as a parent b/c now she isn't always where you left her. We'll try and get some video footage this weekend. The other neat thing Ella did yesterday was really say, "mama." Jake likes to remind me that she was saying "Dada" last week. Either way its very neat. Hope you all saw the Easter slide show. Here are a couple pictures from the other night where Ella had fun pulling out all her diapers.

That one must have been stinky

The Jogger

Last weekend Jake and I began training for Bloomsday which is a huge 12k race in Spokane. We decided that we would walk it because we wanted to take Ella but in order to do that we needed a jogging stroller. So we found one, bought it and love it!! One of the best parts of about the weekend of Bloomsday is that Brandon, Laura, and Bennett will be coming to visit. We are so excited to see them!
