Ella's 5th Birthday

Ella chose to have a Unicorn themed birthday!  It was so much fun planning it.  We bought a unicorn piñata for one of the games to do with the kids.

One of the crafts was having the girls and Jack ( the only boy Ella wanted to invite) decorate unicorn horns.
Ella and Bridgette even got special unicorn shirts to wear.
 She's five!

We ate Papa Murphy's pizza and bread sticks, buggles (represents unicorn horns), rainbow fruit kabobs, and animal crackers.

 Hooray for cake!
Ella was so excited for this cake she picked out!

Unicorn races- I had all the kids line up and do races while wearing their unicorn horns they made in the common area.

Jennie's Baby Shower

When Jennie called to say she was pregnant I told her I would love to host a shower for her.  I made all the décor using my Silhouette machine.  I spent many hours late at night working on things for weeks.  I even asked my mom to help make napkins out of fabric to match my yellow and grey décor.  She even made the chevron table runner.  There were about 20 of Jennie's family and friends who came to help honor the new mom to be.  The food was great, we had pesto chicken pasta salad, deviled eggs, veggies with dill dip, fruit cups, marinated dill pretzels, and mini croissants. For desert I made a lemon blueberry cake with lemon cream cheese frosting, and my mom made lemon bars.

I made the bow on top of the cake with fondant too.
I also made the baby blocks and hand dipped baby oreos with white chocolate that was colored yellow.

My beautiful mom wearing such a cute outfit.  Thanks mom for all your help hosting.
Jennie looking so cute and pregnant.

Jen's mom made her a quilt
I made baby carriage sugar cookies and hand frosted them with royal icing.

Seahawks training day camp

Our friends Jennie and Reggie flew in from San Fran. for training camp day and a baby shower I was throwing for Jennie last weekend.
What a fun way to see the Seahawks.  The girls got a ton of compliments on their outfits.  They were thrilled to see the SeaGals plus get autographs from them.
The girls really love Sydney Rice #18 so they looked for him a lot during the teams practice.  They also spotted the quarterback, Russell Wilson #3.  Jake just loves how much the girls love the Seahawks.
As you can see it rained on us pretty much the entire time.  The only day all summer it chooses to rain and we had were out in it.  The girls didn't mind and found it fun sitting and eating lunch under an umbrella.  Molly slept the whole time so it was kinda nice she didn't have to deal with the rain much.

On the way back from training camp- riding the bus with Reg and Jennie.

Twin Falls Hike

We went on this hike up to Twin Falls a few weekends ago with another family from our neighborhood.  We had never done something like this before with the girls.  It started out with B falling asleep in the car on the way up to the trail and her being really crabby when we had to wake her up.  Nothing that a few gumdrops wouldn't fix.  Thanks God for my emergency candy stash in the car.
Once we were on our way there was no stopping us.  Round trip it was a total of 5miles.  Ella was amazing, she pretended to be Pocahontas so it was perfect.  B did pretty good I had to carry her on a few parts and then on the way down she hitched a few rides with Jake.  The most impressive part was that the girls went potty in the woods.  Now, that is something even I won't do.  Once we reached the falls the expression on Ella's face on how thrilled she was so see the falls was priceless.  It made the hike even better.  We all treated ourselves to Indian food afterwards and frozen yogurt for desert.
