Christmas 2008
Our Christmas holiday actually began by having to shovel our way out of our driveway so we could leave for Spokane. It took us almost 8hrs to get to Nana and Papa's. We had a wonderful time visiting with family. It was very exciting, Ella got to meet her cousin Bennett for the first time. Here are is a cute pictures of the both of them on Christmas Eve.

Nana's Visit
Rolling over
Ella has been trying to roll over for weeks now. It usually took a little help from us to get her all the way over but tonight she was a big girl and did it all by herself several times. It was amazing to see the delight she had on her face when she realized what she had done. It will open up a whole new world for her to explore. Now, we have to teach her how to roll back on her back.
4mo check up
At Ella's 4mo check up she had another round of shots and her doctor said that she can start trying rice cereal. So these pictures document her first experience. It was a little messy but she did great.
Christmas Pj's
I realize I haven't posted many new pictures of Ella so there will be many new posts after this one to catch you all up to speed. Ella has been wearing a lot of red and green which is a nice break from all the pink in her closet but twice yesterday while we were shopping up in Bellevue people thought she was a boy. Poor thing.

Naptimes
Ever since Nana and Papa came to visit we have been working on Ella's sleeping habits. She has never been a good napper. So we are trying to teach her how to fall asleep on her own. In the long run this will make things easier on me and Jake. Right now the hardest part is hearing her cry or in her case whimper. Overall, things have gone well. One a side note we think she is cutting her first tooth- I saw it with my own eyes last night. I'm so proud!!

Holidays
Ella has graduated to a forward facing baby bjorn because her neck is so strong
Ella is drooling all over these days
Well, the holidays are quickly approaching us and I have barely begun Christmas shopping. This weekend Jake and I were busy getting ready for our guests to come for Thanksgiving, which is me and Jake's favorite holiday of them all. In Ella's world, she hasn't quite rolled over yet but she is definitely moving her legs a lot more. Her favorite thing to do first thing in the morning is to babble and coo, its very cute, even if it is at 5:45AM. We can hardly wait for Nana and Papa to see her.

Back to Work
Ella wished me good luck on Tues. when I had to start work. Things went really well. However, I couldn't sleep the night before because I was so nervous that I was going to miss my alarm. And after a full day of work I was exhausted, I couldn't even make dinner. And for those of you who have not heard the news, I get to work 2 days a week and get to stay home the rest of the time with baby Ella. It's the perfect blend of work and family!

It's been a long time
I know we have not posted any new pictures of Ella in awhile and some of you are getting a little impatient. So above are some recent photos. Since we last blogged Ella has been to the doctor for her 2mo check up. She weighed in at 13lbs and 23 inches long. Yup, she is in the 95% in her weight class. Ella never misses a meal!!
Speaking of meals, we are down to the wire of having Ella learn how to take a bottle. I only have a short 2 weeks left before I return to work. So far giving her a bottle is a battle of the wills. Who gives in first, usually its her. She knows how to take the bottle she just would rather have me instead. I feel so bad for her but in the long run it will be the best for both of us.
Ella has also discovered her fists. Instead of pushing the pacifier I just let her suck on her fists, lets hope that she never finds her thumb. Otherwise, we will have to start a saving account for future braces.
Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.
